UK Treasury to cover Bayeux Tapestry for estimated €917 million
France is preparing to transport the historic Bayeux Tapestry to England this coming summer. But concerns remain about whether the transfer of this valuable artifact will be secure enough, especially in the wake of the infamous Louvre heist. The Bayeux Tapestry is set to be covered by a UK Treasury indemnity of about 800 million pounds (€917 million) during its loan to the British Museum in 2026, the Financial Times report.
