Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a telephone conversation with Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to discuss deepening bilateral cooperation and addressing urgent regional and global issues.
According to a statement from the Turkish Presidency's Directorate of Communications, the leaders focused on strengthening the strategic partnership between Turkey and Saudi Arabia. President Erdoğan expressed his goal of further deepening collaboration through concrete steps to be taken in the coming period.
Emphasis on Stability in Yemen and Somalia
During the call, President Erdoğan emphasized that Turkey is closely monitoring developments in Somalia and Yemen. He underlined that protecting the territorial integrity of both nations is of paramount importance for maintaining regional stability. Furthermore, Erdoğan conveyed Turkey's readiness to contribute to efforts aimed at bringing conflicting parties in Yemen together for a peaceful resolution.
Deteriorating Humanitarian Situation in Gaza
The leaders also addressed the ongoing crisis in Gaza. President Erdoğan pointed out that humanitarian conditions have become increasingly severe with the onset of the winter season. He affirmed that Turkey remains committed to its efforts to secure a permanent ceasefire and continues to work toward the eventual reconstruction of Gaza.
