WISE NEWS PRESS / KYIV, UKRAINE — NOVEMBER 15, 2025
Kyiv was hit by a heavy barrage of Russian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and missiles overnight, with the attacks continuing into the early hours of Friday and causing extensive damage to buildings across the capital.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko stated that Russia launched a major assault on the city, triggering multiple fires and damaging residential homes in several districts. According to officials, emergency response teams rushed to address numerous strikes, reporting at least 16 people injured.
Following a series of powerful explosions and the activation of air defense systems, five individuals were hospitalized, including a man in critical condition and a pregnant woman.
According to Klitschko, at least 11 multi-story residential buildings in various districts sustained damage. In the Shevchenkivskyi and Holosiivskyi districts, falling debris ignited fires in an open area near a medical facility and inside a non-residential building.
Authorities urged residents to remain in shelters until the air raid alarm was lifted and warned of potential electricity and water outages.
Wider Conflict Update
Regional Governor Mykola Kalashnyk reported that Russian strikes also damaged critical infrastructure and homes in surrounding areas, injuring at least six people. He noted that a 55-year-old man in Bila Tserkva suffered severe thermal burns and was hospitalized. Ukrainian Air Force confirmed that attacks were launched against other parts of Ukraine as well.
The latest wave of attacks comes as Russia reports territorial gains in Southern Ukraine. Ukrainian forces have recently withdrawn from several villages in the Zaporizhzhia region amid fierce fighting. Over the past four weeks, the Russian Ministry of Defence claimed to have captured nine settlements in Donetsk, eight in Zaporizhzhia, seven in Dnipropetrovsk, and five in the Kharkiv regions.
Meanwhile, the Institute for the Study of War reported that Russia's efforts to besiege Pokrovsk are progressing slowly because commanders have spread their resources across a wide area, despite deploying elite drone operators and "Spetsnaz" special forces. Ukraine has continued to launch long-range drone attacks on high-value military targets deep within Russia.
