Space Debris Delays Return: Stranded Chinese Astronauts 'In Good Condition'
The return of three Chinese astronauts from the Tiangong space station was delayed after their capsule was hit by space debris. Authorities confirm the crew is in good health and operating normally.

The three astronauts currently aboard China’s Tiangong space station are reported to be in good condition, working and living normally, despite the recent postponement of their scheduled return mission due to an impact with space debris.
The astronauts' mission to return to Earth, originally planned for early this month, was unexpectedly canceled after their spacecraft was believed to have been struck by a small piece of space debris.
The China Manned Space Engineering Office confirmed the crew's well-being on Tuesday, stating that the return mission is delayed to an unspecified date. However, according to the space agency’s statement, the mission team is actively conducting tests and drills. The statement confirmed: "The Shenzhou-20 crew is in good condition; they are working and living normally."
Mission Extended Due to Debris Impact
The three astronauts—Chen Dong, Chen Zhongrui, and Wang Jie—traveled to the Tiangong space station in April and had reached the end of their six-month mission period.
Their replacement mission, Shenzhou-21, successfully docked with the space station on November 1st, notably carrying a group of mice for experiments for the first time.
China has been making steady progress in its space program since 2003, successfully building its own space station and setting an ambitious goal of landing humans on the Moon by 2030. The unexpected delay due to space debris highlights the increasing orbital risk faced by all international space programs.
