DUBAI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES — Turkey’s high-value-added healthcare sector significantly expanded its global footprint by participating in the WHX Dubai 2026 Fair with a delegation of 203 companies. The fair, held from February 9 to 12, 2026, served as a primary platform for Turkish firms to showcase innovative medical devices, pharmaceuticals, and dental products to the Middle East and Africa regions.

The national participation organization was led by the Istanbul Chemicals and Chemical Products Exporters' Association (IKMIB). With this massive turnout, Turkey ranked as the fourth-largest participant in the exhibition, trailing only China, Germany, and the United Arab Emirates.

Expanding Global Influence

The WHX Dubai 2026 Fair hosted 4,300 companies from more than 180 countries and welcomed over 235,000 visitors. IKMIB organized a dedicated national participation area covering 576 square meters, which included 40 firms, while another 163 Turkish companies participated individually. The delegation focused on strengthening international trade ties and evaluating new opportunities for export growth in the chemical and healthcare sectors.

Strategic Diplomatic Support

During the fair, Turkish companies received high-level diplomatic visits from T.C. Ambassador to Abu Dhabi, Lütfullah Göktaş, along with several trade attachés. The delegation examined innovative products firsthand and discussed strategies to enhance Turkey’s export potential in competitive global markets. Representatives from IKMIB’s Medical Device and Pharmaceutical Committees also conducted booth visits to support firms in their international trade endeavors.

Record Growth in Pharmaceutical Exports

Adil Pelister, Chairman of the Board of IKMIB, highlighted the strategic importance of the fair for the Turkish healthcare sector’s sustainable growth. According to Pelister, Turkey’s pharmaceutical export performance has shown a strong upward trajectory.

“Our pharmaceutical product exports rose to 1.77 billion dollars in 2025, representing an increase of 14.57%,” Pelister stated. “Prestigious international organizations like WHX Dubai strengthen our companies' access to global markets while showcasing Turkey's production capacity and innovation talent on the world stage.”

Pelister reaffirmed IKMIB’s commitment to supporting its members in reaching new markets and maintaining Turkey's strong representation in high-value-added production sectors.
