The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has released footage showing the successful destruction of two Russian S-400 "Triumf" surface-to-air missile launchers during a targeted operation.
The strike was executed by soldiers of the 15th Separate Artillery Reconnaissance Brigade, known as "Black Forest" (Chornyi Lis). According to the Ukrainian General Staff, the launchers were struck while carrying a full combat load, leading to massive secondary detonations as the onboard missiles ignited. The operation reportedly took place near the intense Pokrovsk front and targeted units from Russia's 568th Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment.
Strategic Blow to Russian Air Defense
The S-400 system is considered one of Russia’s most advanced and expensive air defense assets, designed to intercept aircraft, drones, and ballistic missiles at long ranges. Military analysts suggest that destroying fully loaded systems not only removes a significant threat but also indicates a gap in Russia's local air defense umbrella. The successful strike underscores Ukraine's increasing effectiveness in utilizing surveillance and precision strike capabilities to target high-value Russian military equipment.
