TURIN, ITALY — Galatasaray is visiting the Italian powerhouse Juventus tonight for the second leg of the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 play-off stage, carrying a significant 5-2 aggregate advantage from the first leg.
The Turkish side entered the pitch at the Allianz Stadium looking to protect their three-goal lead and secure a spot in the next round of Europe's elite competition. According to reports from Karar, the match began with high intensity as both sides created dangerous opportunities within the opening minutes.
Starting Lineups and Early Pressure
Juventus manager started the match with Perin in goal, supported by a defensive line of Kalulu, Gatti, and Kelly. The midfield featured McKennie, Koopmeiners, Locatelli, and Thuram, while the attacking trio consisted of Conceiçao, Turkish international Kenan Yıldız, and David.
Galatasaray’s head coach opted for Uğurcan Çakır between the posts. The starting eleven also included Sallai, Sanchez, Abdülkerim, Jakobs, Torreira, Sara, Lemina, Lang, Barış Alper, and star striker Victor Osimhen.
The match kicked off at 23:00 local time under intense atmosphere. Galatasaray nearly found the net as early as the 2nd minute when Barış Alper delivered a corner kick into the box. Davinson Sanchez connected with a powerful header, but Juventus goalkeeper Perin made an acrobatic save to deny the visitors an early lead.
Back-and-forth Action in Turin
Juventus responded quickly to the early pressure. In the 4th minute, Kenan Yıldız sent a cross into the penalty area, finding Gatti, whose header went just over the crossbar. The Italian side continued to push for an opening goal to narrow the aggregate gap, with Koopmeiners missing another header in the 10th minute following a cross from Conceiçao.
Galatasaray regained momentum in the 11th minute through a tactical set-piece. Ismail Jakobs used a long throw-in, which was flicked on by Abdülkerim Bardakcı. The ball fell to Victor Osimhen, who struck it on the volley, but Perin once again came to Juventus' rescue with a crucial save.
The match remains 0-0 as both teams continue to fight for dominance in the midfield. With Galatasaray holding a 5-2 lead from the first leg, the Turkish giants remain in a strong position to advance, while Juventus searches for a miracle comeback on home soil.
