Zelenskyy Thanks Americans, Trump After 'No Gratitude' Remark

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has responded to US President Donald Trump's claim that the Ukrainian leadership showed "no gratitude" for peace efforts, stating, "Ukraine is grateful to every American and particularly to President Trump."
In a statement on social media, Zelenskyy expressed gratitude for the aid that "saved the lives of Ukrainians, starting with the Javelin missiles."
Trump's 'Gratitude' Reproach
During talks in Geneva, Switzerland, President Trump had posted on social media describing the Russia-Ukraine war as "violent and horrible" and stating, "If there had been strong and proper leadership from the US and Ukraine, this war would never have happened." Trump also claimed that the Ukrainian leadership showed no gratitude for US efforts and noted that Europe continued to buy oil from Russia.
Zelenskyy also thanked Europe and the G7 and G20 countries for their assistance, highlighting the importance of continued support.
“That is why we carefully consider every step taken towards peace. Everything must be prepared correctly so that we can truly end this war and prevent a new one from breaking out,” Zelenskyy said.
He concluded by saying, “Thank you to everyone who helps. Thank you, USA. Thank you, Europe. I am proud of our people.”
