WASHINGTON, USA — The fragile ceasefire process between the United States and Iran has completely collapsed after White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt harshly rejected Tehran's 10-point plan, stating it was literally thrown in the trash.
This strong statement comes just days before scheduled peace talks in Islamabad, effectively ending the short-lived illusion of peace in the Middle East amid escalating regional tensions and Israel's ongoing strikes in Lebanon. Washington completely denied allegations that President Donald Trump had previously described the plan as a viable basis for negotiation.
An unserious and unacceptable draft
According to a report by Karar, Leavitt appeared before the cameras to dismiss claims in the American media that the plan had been accepted. She argued that the US military operations had caused heavy destruction in Iran, forcing the Tehran regime to accept this reality at the negotiating table.
Targeting the draft presented by Iran, Leavitt stated:
"The 10-point plan initially put forward by the Iranians is fundamentally unserious, unacceptable, and completely rejected. This plan was literally thrown in the trash by President Trump and his negotiating team."
Uranium enrichment remains a red line
Confirming that the US actually has its own new and different 15-point plan on the negotiating table, Leavitt emphasized that Washington will never compromise on its red lines. At the top of these red lines is the complete termination of Iran's uranium enrichment program.
Summarizing the US stance clearly, Leavitt said, "President Trump's red lines have not changed. The idea that President Trump would accept an Iranian wish list as an agreement is completely absurd. The President will only make a deal that serves the best interests of the United States."
A simultaneous diplomatic crisis
The timing of this harsh statement from the White House points to a major diplomatic crisis. Earlier, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf announced that the US had violated three conditions of the 10-point plan, rendering further negotiations illogical. Occurring simultaneously with Tehran's reported closure of the Strait of Hormuz, the response from Washington demonstrates that all ties between the parties have been completely severed.
